Omineiri in Yamakita

The origin of “Omineiri” is not a coincidence, but its history is thought to be quite old.

There is a reliable record of the “Daijingu Festival Book” dated 1863.


The name Omineiri generally meanstraining in the mountains in Shugendo.

Although the Omineiri in this area is not the same as this, the Minasegawa area was once a place for mountain training.

The people who are currently participating in Omineiri are also people of Confucianism.

In particular, the Shugyo dance'' inOmineiri” expresses well the impression of Yamabushi training.


This dance is performed by the people of each district of the Minase River, with 81 members and 29 different roles.
